The Processor:
The Intel QX9775 is the most powerful processor currently available. It features 4 cores, each running at an impressive 3.2GHz, with a copious 12Mb of L2 cache. With our Hyperion system featuring two of these processing monsters, it vastly reduces the time of cpu intensive activities to a fraction of what they were. To ensure consistent running, they have both been fitted with powerful coolers. These make sure that your processors are both cool and also whisper quiet.
The Memory:
The RAM that we use in our Hyperion system is the fastest version compatible with the dual processor motherboard. As standard, the system comes with 4Gb, split into 2 x 2Gb sticks. This can be increased to a massive total of 16Gb if your personal needs require it.
The Motherboard:
The Intel Skulltrail is a truly remarkable piece of kit. It features not one, but two slots for processors, allowing for enbelievable amounts of processing power from the two QX9775 processors. Due to a unique agreement with nVidia, this is also the only non-nVidia board to be able to run an SLI based sestip. It is also compatible with the ATI Crossfire system as well, leading to maximum flexibility.
The Graphics Cards:
The PNY NVIDIA Quadro FX 3700 PCIE is a top-notch performance card from the NVIDIA Quadro Series designed for ultra-fast and high definition industrial graphics, using the best of today's technology. A huge total of 1GB of dedicated graphics memory means even the most graphic intensive applications will not slow down, no matter what the load is.
The Operating System:
Zeus comes with an installation of Windows Vista Home Premium (64bt Edition). This space here really isn't enough to do justice to all the different facets, features and improvements in Windows Vista, but do have a look at the Microsoft Windows Vista site for more information.
The Monitor:
The Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP features a raft of new technology for better colour reproduction, faster speeds and more inputs. The 3000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio allows you to get darker blacks, sharp images, crisp text, brilliant colour saturation and greater life-like detail. The HDMI interface allows connection to a HD-DVD/Blu-Ray player for full 1080p high definition video.
The Hard Drives:
The 2 Western Digital Velociraptor hard disks are blisteringly fast. They are up there with the fastest consumer hard drives available. 2 Velociraptors in RAID 0 are a dream for hardware enthusiasts the world over. Meanwhile, the 1000 gigabytes of mirrored storage space given by the world renowned Samsung Spinpoints allow for hours upon hours of video and music to be stored securely.
The Case:
The Silverstone TJ-09 is one of the best air cooling cases money can buy. It has a revolutionary air intake system for the graphics cards allowing for exceptional cooling. This is particularly important in a setup such as the Hyperion where you are running two graphics cards in parallel. The case is fitted throughout with 120mm fans (5 in total) in order to ensure the cool running of the system whilst keeping the accoustic levels down to an absolute minimum. Combined with this all conquering functionality is a very stylish brushed aluminium exterior for a particularly classy look.
On the top of the case is a small panel that pops up to reveal 2 USB ports, 1 Firewire port and both speaker and microphone sockets. The case is available in both silver and black.
The Cooling:
The use of high performance, low noise fans allow the system to run fully loaded 24 hours a day, 7 days per week and still remain cool and whisper quiet. The tried and tested push-pull air configuration allows for a quick and efficient way of removing hot air from the system.
The Power Supply:
The flagship 1000 watt Enermax Galaxy power supply sets a new standard in computer power. The power comes quietly, thanks to the slow spinning 140mm fan. It comes efficiently, tests proved this power supply was one of the most efficient in its class averaging over 85%. And most importantly of all, the power is always delivered stably, even under maximum load in a hot room, this power supply just keeps on going.
The Keyboard and Mouse:
The ultimate workstation combo. The MX5500 combo is the marriage of the best keyboard and the best mouse in the Logitech stable. Egronomics come right to the forefront here for people that require extended usage of their equipment. The MX1000 mouse is widely regarded as being one of the most comfortable units available today.
